Ecommerce AEO Gets a Dashboard—and a New Product Vocabulary

AI Performance Insights and Conversational Attributes make answer-engine visibility more measurable and feed-driven.

AI-search visibility increasingly depends on complete, consistent product facts. Use Google’s new insights diagnostically, then validate visibility and commercial outcomes with independent queries, analytics, and sales data.

AI Performance Insights shows how products are discovered in AI Mode, Gemini, and AI Overviews. Brands can compare share of voice with demand, inspect discovery, evaluation, and purchase stages, and see product terms or specifications shoppers care about—such as setup ease, battery life, dimensions, materials, and color.

Conversational Attributes add richer data to existing product feeds so AI experiences can answer more detailed questions and recommend complementary items. This is AEO becoming operational: less mystical advice about ‘writing for robots,’ more disciplined work on whether the catalog actually knows what the product is.

Document dimensions, compatibility, ingredients or materials, use cases, limitations, care, assembly, warranty, availability, variants, shipping, and returns where relevant. Keep the same facts across feed, structured data, page copy, support content, and marketplace listings. Conflicting truth is difficult for people and delightfully confusing for machines.

Use plain customer language alongside precise terminology. Answer comparison and suitability questions honestly, including who should not buy. Do not invent attributes merely to occupy more queries. Strong AEO improves retrieval by making evidence clearer; it is not a creative-writing competition for the longest product feed.
